2018 Jeep Cherokee: Release date, prices, specs, and features

Jeep states that the 2018 Jeep Cherokee is one of their most popular vehicles after the Grand Cherokee. And what’s not to love? This compact SUV is made almost all the way from U.S. manufactured parts, second only to the Jeep Wrangler.

What’s New on the 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

The trim levels take the top position as far as changes are concerned, and are retooled in the Limited, Trailhawk, Latitude, and Latitude Plus. All of the 2018 Cherokees will come with a nine-speed automatic partnered with either the V6/3.2L engine, or the 2.4L/V4 engine. Two-wheel drive is standard on all models, but there are three four-wheel drive system options as well. Trailhawk, for example, has the four-wheel drive offered as part of the standard package.

Tech Upgrades for the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

All 2018 Jeep models this year will have the anti-lock brakes, traction control, trailer sway controls, electronic stability control, backup cameras, and keyless entry. A really sweet option that is being offered is the tech connect package which offers the Amazon Alexa interface using the Echo (which is included). This tech package also upgrades the audio system, as well as connectivity for navigation.

Safety Options for the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

In some of the trims, such as the Latitude Plus, there is a safety package offered as standard that adds in the blind-spot monitoring tech as well as rear cross detection, rear park assistance, and foldaway mirrors. Included as standard are side rails, high intensity lights, cargo management, fog lamps, 17-inch aluminum wheels, Uconnect and touchscreen display, Bluetooth capabilities, and voice recognition tech.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus

Base model is approximately $26,295 without four wheel drive, $27,795 with it. For the increased dollar amount you get everything the Latitude has, plus leather and cloth seats, a larger touchscreen, keyless entry with push-start features, lumbar adjustment, and a passenger seat in the front that can be folded down to lay flat.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Limited

If you want the base model of this Jeep you’ll see price tags weighing in around $29,795 without FWD, and $31,295 with it. 18-inch aluminum wheels, dual zone temperature zones, heated leather seats, power liftgates, blind spot monitoring, rear parking assistance, and rear path detection.

2018 Jeep Cherokee Overland

The starting price for the base model without FWD is $34,095, and $37,340 with it. The audio system capabilities are increased, interior accents and leather more luxurious, the tech is approximately the same as the Limited, and if offers a free trial to satellite radio. 

2018 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

The Trailhawk only comes as FWD trim because that’s what it’s made for. Starting at $30,995, this Jeep is ready for rock crawlin’ fun with its select-terrain 4x4 system, 1-inch lift and skid plates included as standard. Aluminum wheels are 17 inches and come from the factory with all -terrain tires as well as tow hooks. The tech is impressive with the Bluetooth streaming audio with voice recognition, touchscreen display, and a 7-inch digital cluster display on the dash.
