Recent reports stated that the 4-cylinder turbo engine option for the JL Wranglers was going come out swinging with 368 HP. Today, we are sad to say that the engine will not, in fact, come with 368 HP. Instead, the engine’s output is currently listed as NR (Not Rated).

368 HP Engine Was Just a Dream

Recent reports stated that the 4-cylinder turbo engine option for the JL Wranglers was going come out swinging with 368 HP. Today, we are sad to say that the engine will not, in fact, come with 368 HP. Instead, the engine’s output is currently listed as NR (Not Rated).

It looks like everyone (including us) was a little too excited to accept the hype. And can you blame us? It was posted on an official FCA document after all. That same document is now updated with the NR designation and we have to wait for the release to know for certain how many horses are in that juicy turbo engine.

One thing to point out is that just because it was shifted to NR for now doesn’t mean that the engine won’t have the 368 HP, or, dare we say it… more. While it’s unlikely that the turbo will have more than 368 HP we are open to the idea and are already dreaming about it.
