Jeep Wrangler Truck to be Called “Scrambler”

The Wrangler JT truck offering from Jeep is now being dubbed the “Scrambler,” in what appears to be an homage to the classic CJ-8 Scrambler of yesteryear. He CJ-8 was built on a longer CJ7 frame, so it’s kind of fitting. Initial reactions think it may get a little confusing when it comes time to search for parts. Then again, the “JT/CJ” designation can easily set you in the right direction. Top Options for the JT include:

  • Premium Sunrider Soft Top
  • Black 3-Piece Hard Top
  • Body Color 3-Piece Hard Top

Every top would be removable, making it a unique truck; the only one to feature convertible styling. Although the JT will not be released until 2019, there’s plenty of interest being generated by release notes, speculation and test sightings. Some of the most exciting news is that the JT will be offered with the JL Wrangler's 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel engine. Other details include bigger axles, longer frame, and tire mount beneath the bed.
