In exciting CES 2018 conference news, the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler made its display debut on this year’s showroom floor. While the newest model of the Jeep classic—perpetually adored by Jeep enthusiasts on a global scale—may not have appeared drastically different at first glance, it’s what’s inside that counts. Upon closer inspection, Wrangler-heads will quickly notice that the all-new interior has been outfitted with all kinds of fun, practical, and just plain cool updates the likes of which off-roaders have yet to see on a Wrangler.
As one of the classic Jeep models, the Wrangler has never veered too far from its aesthetic roots, maintaining its boxy shape and rugged design over the many years since its conception. Until now, the oft-considered primitive exterior meant that Jeepers could expect something similar from the Wrangler’s interior. To own a Wrangler is to overlook somewhat uncomfortable seating with minimal leg room, not to mention an all but complete lack of technology or innovation. Fortunately, the 2018 model on display at CES this month seeks to loosen the Wrangler’s tightly clasped grip on this antediluvian “good-old-days” trend. With a total of four 2018 Wranglers on the CES show floor for attendees to prod and poke, the goal of Jeep’s top henchmen was to get the word out about the shift to state-of-the-art in-vehicle technology and cutting edge innovation.
Advanced interior features on the 2018 model aim to meet the demands of Jeep-lovers who are no longer content sitting within the confines of vintage-inspired, tech-minimal Wrangler walls. Instead, these Jeeps boast the latest safety features and technology advancements, like the Uconnect in-dash system. Head of Branding for Jeep, Mike Manley, says the Uconnect system is, “designed to provide consumers with a variety of conveniently connected services and features that deliver the ultimate driving experience, and that evolves both on- and off-road…” The 8.4-inch display is multi-touch gesture enabled, provides sharper image resolution and graphics, and boasts a vastly improved processor, as well as Apple and Android device compatibility.
For the dreamers, the ones who hesitantly wait for the ultimate sign to finally commit to a Wrangler, the masterminds at Jeep introduced the first-of-its-kind Jeep Adventure Reality app. Tentative Jeepers can use the web-based configuration system to truly get a taste for the Wrangler life. The app allows users to digitally build their own Wrangler complete with specifications from the number of doors to the exterior, interior and trim colors. What’s more, app users can visually transport their personalized Jeep home to get a feel for how the sleek new model would really fit in with their lives. Transpose the 2018 Wrangler to a motley of personal destinations like your garage, driveway or even living room. It doesn’t take much more than that to make a Jeep convert.
