lead2-jeep-grand-cherokee-crd-fd With all the buzz around the new Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel engine option. Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently told Ward's Auto that the "The Jeep Wrangler is on the radar to get a diesel." The rumors since then have been rampant with the possibility of the 3.0L diesel engine being an option in the upcoming 2015 Jeep Wrangler. From an engineering standpoint, the 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine and the VM 3.0L Diesel engine share the same sub frame platform in the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and doesn’t make these rumors much of a stretch. Wrangler fans have been holding their breath for an American diesel but with EPA restrictions so high, it hasn’t been an option. I for one will be completely surprised if Jeep doesn’t make the 3.0L diesel engine an option in the refresh 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I am hoping they don’t go “contemporary” on the looks like the 2014 Cherokee. If Jeep comfirms the diesel engine option, Make sure to get on the waiting list for Superchips tune!
