When To Use a River Raider
Outfitting your ride does require extra installation. They are installed on the air intake to create a tight seal against water from entering. The attached pipe runs up through the hood and is secured on the passenger side. Since it is situated higher, it works to minimize water getting sucked in. For off-roaders who enjoy navigating through streams and sandy, low rivers, a snorkel is worth the investment. Having a snorkel is also beneficial for people who live in areas with a lot of rain. Even though the water is coming from above, it protects the air box by channeling the water through the snorkel to be released away from the engine.
