5x5.5 In. Wheels
So many possibilities exist for upgrading your off-road vehicle. Whether you're replacing damaged rims or you're switching to larger tires, rim upgrades are a logical choice. Let Morris 4x4 Center help! We stock an extensive range of wheels with 5x5.5-inch bolt patterns, including top-rated models from brands like American Racing, Black Rhino, Ion Alloy, US Wheel and Pro Comp.
Why Should You Upgrade to 5x5.5-Inch Rims?
Every vehicle comes with a specific bolt pattern when it rolls off the assembly line — in the case of your machine, it's 5x5.5 inches. Unless you use wheel bolt pattern adapters, you should be shopping for 5x5.5in rims when you plan to upgrade. Sticking with the original is advisable, especially to avoid failure and other serious issues.
Fortunately, there are tons of available options when upgrading your rims. Within the same bolt pattern, you can switch to wider and/or taller wheels. Changing to larger wheels increases both wheel and sidewall sizes, offering potentially better grip on terrain with boulders and large rocks plus deeper and wider-spaced tread in muddy ground. You can also downsize, opting for wheels with smaller diameters.
Where To Buy 5x5.5in Rims
Morris 4x4 Center offers an impressive inventory of wheels at price points suitable for nearly every off-roader's budget. Wallet-friendlier models include the Pro Comp Series 97 Rock Crawler, Mickey Thompson's Classic Baja Lock Wheel and Method Race Wheels' MR304 Double Standard —all different styles available for under $250. Mid-priced wheels include Mayhem Warrior's 8105 and Black Rhino's Sierra series models.
While most of our new off roading rims cost under $600, we do also stock some upper-end models. There's Ion Alloy's 171 polished wheels plus Method's MR201 forged beadlock wheels. The MR201 is designed for short-course off-road racing with its lightweight durable construction incorporating a forged 6061 aluminum v.2 ring.
Benefits of Smaller Rims
Choosing smaller wheels may be advantageous for some off-roaders. With smaller wheels, you have the option of equipping bigger tires. You can improve traction and grip, plus cut down on tire damage when running on tricky terrain. You also avoid sapping engine power, as you sometimes do when using larger wheels.
