2014 Jeep Cherokee Update

The new 2014 Jeep Cherokee is said to start production in May 2013, so the first showing is likely to be at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2013 or the New York Auto Show in April 2013. Some jokingly are calling it the Jeep Liberkee, being it is replacing the Jeep Liberty. All jokes aside, this Jeep Cherokee is starting to take shape. The Jeep Cherokee is certain to have an all new 3.2L V6 engine instead of the 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine, which is currently in the Jeep Wrangler JK’s . A turbo diesel engine option is possible as well for the United States (We'll be crossing finger). The transmission is to be the ZF nine-speed automatic. The ZF transmission uses a TorqueFlite-style planetary gear set with a four wheel set (transfer case built into transmission). The ZF Transmission, though makes no provision for a two-speed transfer case. Some are saying Jeep will simply drop that feature even in the Trail Rated model. Most auto critics believe it will be less off-road capable. Lets hope they are wrong.
