Thanks to the people at motorsport.com we get to see a 2016 Jeep Cherokee off road test while it played in the deep snow. This video was fun to watch, especially around the 7 minute and beyond mark, as he attempts to climb a slick hill in the different drive modes the Cherokee has to offer. The vehicle tested was the Cherokee Latitude with the V6 engine on all season tires.

Watch the Cherokee Off Road Test in the Snow

"Today is possibly one of the worst days I could be testing an all wheel drive vehicle" said host Jason Fenske, owner of Youtube's Engineering Explained channel. The channel has several interesting videos highlighting other cars, trucks, and 4x4s, including their performance capabilities and specs. Considering the conditions, he wouldn't have been able to make it out to the testing location in another vehicle. The video of the Cherokee off road test is a pretty fair assessment of the model and covers its Auto, Snow, Sport, and Mud/Sand Select Terrain System options. Fenske also discusses practical things like cabin and storage space, towing capacity, and gas mileage. He does a pretty good job of carving out a path in the snow before testing its abilities. This isn't his first time off road, that's for sure. You can read the full video description here.   Have you done your own 2016 Cherokee off road test? How does it compare to older XJ Cherokees?
