Jeep’s 2018 Tech Connect package for the Cherokee KL will feature a Uconnect skill that connects to Amazon’s Alexa. For those who don’t know, Alexa is a voice service you can access through the Amazon Echo. Alexa can play music for you, make calls, send/receive messages, provide news, weather, sports scores, and more, all by voice commands.

The Tech Connect Package with Alexa will allow users to:

  • Start/stop the Cherokee remotely using their voice
  • Lock/unlock doors
  • Send directions to NAV-equipped models
  • Monitor vehicle vitals like tire pressure, engine, etc.

    • And if you don’t already own an Amazon Echo Dot, buyers of the 2018 KL (Available starting 11/1/17) will receive one upon purchase, in addition to a 3-month subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan and a 3 month membership to Audible.

    Cherokees with the Tech Connect Package will come with an 8.4” Uconnect Infotainment screen, backup assist, and a one-year Sirius XM Satellite Radio subscription. Users must register with Uconnect Access before searching for and enabling the Uconnect skill in the Alexa app’s skills store. Once that’s done, link the accounts and you’re ready to tell your Jeep to do stuff like Knight Rider.
