Eric and Bill compare Alpine’s new restyle units, the X209 and i209. Both of these units are designed for the Wrangler and offer a lot of handy features. If you haven’t seen each unit’s respective video check them out here:

Both units feature Apple Carplay and Android Auto functionality for your smart phone, allowing users to launch apps and navigation from the touchscreen interface. To boot, both have an updated screen that boasts antiglare, which comes in handy when you’ve dropped the top and the sun is shining on your radio’s monitor.

The X and i models are very similar, but the X, being Alpine’s flagship model has a few more added benefits:

  • The X209 has embedded navigation (interface built inside unit)
    • Allows more off-road features, like saving trails not on the map
  • X209 has a CD/DVD player
    • Enables movies and formats such as .wma files

Otherwise, these units are quite similar, with high quality audio and a user-friendly interface at the forefront of operations.
