When it comes to keeping an older Jeep on the road, one battle you have to contend with is rust. Not because there’s anything bad about the older Jeeps, but they tend to live in the real world amidst rain, sleet, mud or sand. These are Jeeps for the working men and woman across the country. And sometimes, they’re going to get their Jeeps a little dirty. There's nothing wrong with that.
Thing is, all that mud, dirt, and dust ends up somewhere. Often it's stuck in the frame’s channel, or odd places that are hard to get to. A Jeeper might not have time to wash his or her Jeep right away, as they may have to wait for the weekends. In the meantime, the dirt, dust and mud are causing moisture to stay where it shouldn’t be. And that, my friends, is how rust comes about most of the time. In extreme cases, eating right through the frame of the Jeep. That's not good. Nor is it safe.
Now, if this was a rusted out Civic, you could just take the license plate off, leave it on the side of the road, and be done with it. No one’s going to care. But this is a Jeep. You can’t count a Jeep down ‘til it’s given up its last breath of life. We all know a little rust problem isn’t going to stop you or your Jeep.
Especially when Safe-T-Cap (previously known as Auto Rust Technicians) is making great parts to replace those rusty frame sections and bring your Jeep back to life and ready for the trails.
One hot product are the rear trailing arm mounts for the Jeep TJs. With over 35+ years in the automotive parts manufacturing business, Safe-T-Cap makes parts that fit right the first time, which allow you to safely update your Jeep for years to come.
Well thought out engineering, in this rear trailing arm for instance, allows it to be fitted over the bad part of the frame, and welded onto the good steel surrounding the rust area. This makes a good welded bond and the affected part of the frame strong again.
Safe-T-Cap has even incorporated drain holes, something Jeep neglected to do from the factory, probably causing the very problem you’re repairing now. Safe-T-Cap is thinking ahead, and the drain holes will allow moisture to escape from the boxed in frame.
Starting in 1977, Safe-T-Cap (then known as Auto Rust Technicians) started out by doing repairs on frames locally, and similar other work. By doing many of the same repairs over and over, they developed the best ways to make a strong repair, while finding ways to do it better and in less time.
Eventually they began using jigs and patterns to make better products, ‘til today when they use modern computers and cutters to make the parts. They even go as far as to acquire test vehicles to make sure a new product will fit correctly, and give a Customer’s vehicle the strongest fit and finish possible in a repair.

While Safe-T-Cap makes repair parts for Jeeps, they also make them for Toyota Tacomas, Chevy Silverado, and Ford Rangers, just to name a few. We can help you with any of the parts for any of those vehicles right here at the Morris 4x4 Center. Just give us a call and along with Safe-T-Cap, we can get your ride back on the roads and ready for more adventures.
