When it comes to keeping an older Jeep on the road, one battle you have to contend with is rust. Not because there’s anything bad about the older Jeeps, but they tend to live in the real world amidst rain, sleet, mud or sand. These are Jeeps for the working men and woman across the country. And sometimes, they’re going to get their Jeeps a little dirty. There's nothing wrong with that.

Thing is, all that mud, dirt, and dust ends up somewhere. Often it's stuck in the frame’s channel, or odd places that are hard to get to. A Jeeper might not have time to wash his or her Jeep right away, as they may have to wait for the weekends. In the meantime, the dirt, dust and mud are causing moisture to stay where it shouldn’t be. And that, my friends, is how rust comes about most of the time. In extreme cases, eating right through the frame of the Jeep. That's not good. Nor is it safe.

Now, if this was a rusted out Civic, you could just take the license plate off, leave it on the side of the road, and be done with it. No one’s going to care. But this is a Jeep. You can’t count a Jeep down ‘til it’s given up its last breath of life. We all know a little rust problem isn’t going to stop you or your Jeep.
