The Jeep Wrangler JK is the latest version in a long line of historic short wheelbase Jeeps. Meant to go off road, anywhere, anytime, it's the best know trailing vehicle in the world. Come now, I'm sure you've heard of the Jeep JK Wranglers. You know, Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Oh wait, that's the Avengers .... hmmm. Well, that's sort of the same thing isn't it?
Jeep JK Wrangler Takes On the World
The Jeep JK Wrangler is the latest, and up to 2016, the most modern of the Jeep line. And when we say Jeep line, we're talking from the Willys MB, the CJ-series (CJ5, CJ7 and the CJ8 Scrambler), the YJ, the TJ, and now the JK. History, heritage, or American know how, whatever you want to say of it, the JK Wrangler masters it's reputation as one of the most capable off-road 4x4s ever made. The JKs Wrangler Jeep began in 2007. Though the first use of the name "Wrangler" goes back to 1986 (those Jeeps were also known as YJs). The "YJ" letters are the Chrysler/Jeep factory designation. Those two letters for Wranglers separate the models, so you have a YJ, then a TJ and, finally, the famous JK Wranglers.
The JK Wrangler differs from previous models in many ways. The front windshield is curved. The front grille is slanted (though it still retains the seven "slat" look that's traditional on Jeeps). The Unlimited models have 4-doors. In fact, if you see a 4-door Jeep, you know it's a JK right away - it's the only production 4-door Wrangler made so far.
