Autonomous Tech Takes Land Rover Off-Road

Much like FCA, Jaguar Land Rover is working on creating autonomous vehicles. The company is taking its testing a step further by going off road. Land Rover's goal is to create more than 100 research vehicles by 2020. They're calling the technology CAV, for Connected and Autonomous Vehicle. Have a look at the video and see how it works.
The two Land Rovers communicate with each other and share data about the surrounding terrain. We know, this is not for off road enthusiasts like you. It's interesting, though. And it has applications for research and other driverless scenarios not related to leisure time trailing. So while Land Rover won't be replacing anyone's Wrangler any time soon (that was never a question) it's nice to see them making strides in automotive technology.
