To get your Renegade BU back to performing at its optimal just-out-of-the-dealership capability, servicing its fuel system can certainly help. Jeep owners have three options when it comes to fuel service: a complete cleaning of the fuel tank, the fuel injector or a comprehensive cleaning of the entire fuel system. Flushing the fuel system helps break down particles and impurities that have collected over time. To keep your Jeep running smoothly and efficiently, these impurities should be regularly flushed out of the vehicle’s system. By servicing your Renegade BU’s fuel system, you’ll experience better gas mileage, decreased emissions and better engine performance. Regular fueling of your Jeep is dependent on the type and size of its engine. Renegade BU models equipped with a 1.4L or 2.4L engine require at least 87 octane, with varying levels of ethanol. For the 2.4L Flex Fuel Renegade model, up to 85 percent ethanol (E85) is required. Non Flex Fuel 2.4L models should take no more than 10 percent ethanol. Diesel models, regardless of engine size (1.6L or 2.0L) require EN 590 Diesel fuel. Unleaded 89 octane is required for the 1.6L E-Torque Renegade BU model.
