Restored Kaiser Proceeds Good to Go Cause

Raffle tickets for a restored 1967 Kaiser are being sold to raise money for local Wyoming charities. Business owner Nick Dodgson as his team of volunteer mechanics have spent over 2,500 hours rebuilding the M715 military Jeep. Proceeds from the raised funds will benefit victims of domestic violence at the Safe-house Services of Laramie County, Cheyenne Military Affairs Committee, and the Wyoming Wranglers group. Dodgson owns two Midas Auto Service and Tires chains in town, and has been rebuilding classic vehicles consistently for good will. The team previously restored a 1967 Trans Am and a 1966 Ford Mustang. The two vehicles combined earned $135,000. This year, event organizers hope to raise $100,000 and break previous ticket sales."The team is “hugely behind” the project, he said. “It’s turned to this camaraderie that we can build something unique and donate it to the community and see it raise an awful lot of money to help some things we believe in.”Work on the restored 1967 Kaiser began back in January. The Kaiser M715 sits on a modern Dodge 1-ton chassis, and features a V-10 engine, rear-wheel antilock brakes, and updated electronics. It also has a lift kit, light bar grill guard and matching wheels. All told, the team invested about $25,000 in parts and donated labor. Halladay Collision Center, Napa, and other organizations donated body and paint work, custom drive lines, and glass work. Over the years, Safe-house Services used the donations to repair its own vehicle, as well as to pay for furniture for the shelter. This is the kind of story we could get behind.
