The Jeep Wrangler JL
For the most part, the JL Wrangler (appears) it will look a lot like the JK version. That is not too surprising really. The JK is a best seller for Jeep, all around the world, we do not think that want to stray too far from that body style. We still get the slightly bent seven-slat grille. The end slats have an indentation in them, with possibly larger LED headlights. The hood does not seem to get any particular attention, though the side front fenders get a pronounced design scoop just behind the fender flare. The lack of hinges on the front windshield A-posts suggests that the fold down windshield is no more, and won’t be part of the JL model.
The top is a subject of lengthy discussions, as it is believed Jeep will make significant changes here, but no one is sure exactly what they are. The body itself has the familiar “box” shape of the JK, maybe it's a little sharper on the corners. It’s been said many times that the entire hardtop may not be removable at all. Which brings up the ides that the top will have a removable or fold down section that runs down the middle. Or some kind of large Freedom Panels. Or maybe even a hard top / soft hybrid. Of course, if you start removing panels, those might be a headache to throw in the Jeep or store somewhere. If you have Freedom panels now, you know how that can be a hassle sometimes. Another possibility is that the sides of the hardtop act as a roll bar does, so there may not be any roll bars used at all. (if I remember correctly, the roof has to support the weight of a vehicle if it is upside down (such as in an accident, per Federal regulations). The rear of the JL will possibly have square taillights. Similar lights have been seen on other Jeep concept and custom vehicles. They resemble the taillights on a Renegade in many ways. Separate from the way the JL Wrangler will look on the outside as far as design, it will possibly have aluminum body panels. A Diesel engine is rumored to be an option. Perhaps a turbo gas engine too.

But there’s even more to the JL Wrangler story, and it’s going to get something the JK Wrangler never got - a factory pickup truck version of itself. The pickup truck will be very similar in the front to the JL Wrangler, but the back will be a more traditional pickup truck bed. Possibly it will be a “club cab” version, with a small back seat? Or just a two seater? A pickup with a removable roof or panels? There are some concept vehicles out there, but none have been confirmed as being what the final truck will look like. In the end, all we can do is wait for more information. And keep drooling over the latest 3D images and artwork to keep our hopes high on what these two will look like in their final approach to our local dealerships. What are you looking forward to more? The JL Wrangler? of the JL Pickup Truck?
