The Select Increments Sky-Pod with Kicker 4" Speakers throws rich sound directly at the driver and passenger, providing excellent frontal imaging in your Jeep. The Sky-Pod is made of durable, thick plastic with a textured finish to give it a factory appearance. It fastens easily and securely to the windshield frame by using your vehicle's existing footman-loop screw holes and the provided hardware. It is held firmly in place with included fender washers and screws, and the footman loop is then reattached to the top of the pod for bikini top usage. The Sky-Pod will not interfere with hard or soft-tops, visors, or the rear-view mirror.
Most installations in Wranglers include tucking the wires in the windshield gasket until they reach the roll-bar, then running them under the roll-bar and down to the floor to your radio (or amplifier).
Most installations in CJ's include tucking the wires in the windshield gasket until they reach the plastic soft-top piece mounted to the side of the windshield, then through the hole for your wiper motor wires.
There are several options for both CJ's and Wranglers in running the speaker wires and the instructions describe how to install and wire the pod in your particular Jeep. This also includes the 2003-2006 models with the plastic windshield trim piece called the Head Impact Trim.
If you have a 2003-2006 Wrangler or Unlimited TJ, all you have to do is remove the long, center plastic piece. It'll pop off easily and will be just as simple to pop back in. These models make running the speaker wires really easy because you can hide the wires behind the trim piece until they reach the roll-bar and then just run the wires under the padding. The instructions describe how to modify the plastic piece and even include a template that you can use. A tool such as a Rotozip cut-out tool or a jig-saw will be required. The cut itself doesn't have to be perfect because the trim molding included will hide your entire cut. The footman loop will also have to be modified. The loop is held in place with rivets instead of screws. You can drill out the rivets with a 5/32" drill bit, form threads with the included thread-making screws, then add the fender washers and screw the pod into place.
Don't worry, the Sky-Pod comes with all necessary mounting hardware, polyfill, and instructions.
